Selena Gomez fans have slammed her husband Benny Blanco over his ‘unchivalrous’ move in a recently resurfaced video.

The 33-year-old singer and 37-year-old music producer – who tied the knot in September – are usually the epitome of a happy couple.

The pair often step out together, share loved-up photos, and gush over one another.

However, some old clips of the couple has sparked concern from fans after they noticed a particular habit of Blanco’s that they felt was inconsiderate.

A fan recently spliced together a series videos the couple leaving various events and shared it online, and many social media users were quick to notice that Blanco often cuts in front of Gomez when they are trying to avoid paparazzi.

One clip showed Gomez opening the car door and stepping aside for Blanco to then enter the vehicle first.

In another, Blanco appeared to get out of the car and quickly walk away, not waiting for Gomez.

The post went viral and sparked a fierce conversation about the topic.

‘Women are more chivalrous these days,’ one user wrote in reply to the video, while a second person branded his actions as a ‘red flag.’

However, other fans shared theories about why he got in the car first and defended the pair.

‘(It’s) probably because the passenger side back seat is statistically the safest spot in a vehicle,’ someone argued.

‘I mean it was a heated moment… he probably didn’t realize,’ defended another.

‘Guys go in first so the lady doesn’t have to scoot to the other side. I doubt it’s more than that,’ said someone else.

‘She was talking to a fan and the bodyguard told Benny to get in the car, it’s crystal clear what happened don’t circulate narratives,’ slammed another.

Despite fans’ concern, the Rare Beauty founder appears to be loving married life, calling her marriage to Blanco a ‘dream’ on The Zach Lowe Show podcast last week.

The Only Murders in the Building star was talking to Lowe about marriage, when he commented on her recent nuptials.

‘Congratulations on finding happiness with someone in your life you get to share your experiences with, and I’m sure it was just a wonderful occasion,’ Lowe said.

‘But doesn’t it just get better in the days that follow and the months and the years that will follow?’

An elated Gomez replied: ‘I definitely can agree to that. It has been such a dream so far.’

She added: ‘And I know it’ll come with ebbs and flows, but (he’s) the most beautiful person I could do that with.’

The couple confirmed their relationship in December 2023 and got engaged a year later.

‘Forever starts now,’ Gomez wrote on social media at the time, showing off her sparkling diamond ring.
