on Saturday, Jan. 10, featuring herself wearing a form-fitting orange dress.
“A guy recently commented on a picture of me and said, ‘You look pregnant in that dress,’ ” she began while speaking directly to the camera. “And he deleted his comment because I had a great comeback, but I wanted to do it again for you all.”
Maher then repeated what she initially told the man.

“So to him, I say, ‘That’s just a normal woman’s body. You probably haven’t seen a woman naked in a long time, if ever, and I hope you never get the privilege to again, ’cause that’s just how we are, okay?’ ” she continued.
“That’s just what we’re working with. Me, (a) professional athlete,” Maher said.
“I always have this, okay?” she added, motioning to her stomach. “I’m sucking it in right now. And I have it, so, please, please, stop commenting the dumbest stuff.”

“I think this message is too important not to share again,” she wrote in the caption of the video, which has been viewed than 700,000 times as of Sunday, Jan. 11.

This isn’t the first time that the two-time Olympic athlete has spoken out about health and body positivity. In November 2025, she shared a video on

in which she reminded followers that you don’t need a “six-pack” to be strong and fit.
Set to Madonna’s “Vogue,” the video featured Maher in the gym showing her stomach from the front and side. At the end, she highlighted her back and biceps — and her stomach one time — before walking away from the camera laughing.
Over the video, she wrote, “Posing with my completely normal and healthy stomach like those people with six-packs do.”

“I’m not saying six-packs are badbut I do firmly believe that we aren’t all meant to have them and they are not a determinant of how fit or athletic you are,” she wrote in the post’s caption.
“I am a two-time Olympian in an extremely fitness-based sport. Been a professional athlete for 7 years and I have never had a six-pack,” she continued. “I used to compare myself to my teammates who did have them. Yet, I’d still be faster, stronger, and fitter than some of them.”
The Olympic bronze medalist went on to say that she learned that her “body and mind need to be properly fueled” and that “looks different for me” compared to her other teammates, peers and others. She concluded her caption with a message of body positivity for her fans.
“Be kind to your body. We aren’t all meant to be small,” she said. “Take up space. See exactly what your body is capable of with or without a six-pack.”
