Qatar hosted the tournament for the second time in a row in its new format under the umbrella of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), after the 2021 edition in which the Algerian national team was crowned.

With this achievement, the Moroccan team raised its tally to two titles in the history of the tournament, equal to the Saudi team, while the Iraqi team tops the list of the most crowned champions with four copies.
