Saint-Germain defeated Marseille 4-1 on penalty kicks, in the match that was held between them today, Thursday, at the Jaber International Stadium in the Kuwaiti capital, after regular time ended in a 2-2 draw.

Paris Saint–Germain scored through its star Ousmane Dembélé in the 13th minute, but English star Mason Greenwood equalized for Olympique Marseille in the 76th minute from a penalty kick.

The excitement continued in the match, after Marseille scored a second goal with “friendly fire” by Willian Patcho, the Saint-Germain player, by mistake against his team in the 87th minute.

While everyone was preparing for the match to end with Marseille winning and being crowned with the title, Portuguese Gonçalo Ramos scored the equalizer for Saint-Germain in the fifth minute of stoppage time, so the two teams decided to go to penalty kicks, which ultimately smiled in favor of Saint-Germain, after goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier saved two penalty kicks from Marseille players.

Kuwait became the fourth Arab country to host the French Super Cup after Tunisia hosted the tournament in 2010, Morocco in 2011 and 2017, and Qatar last season.
