Khmelnitsky and Rivne NPPs have been operating in low power mode for 10 days
The Khmelnitsky and Rivne nuclear power plants continue to operate at reduced power for ten days. According to the International Atomic Energy Agency, on the night of November 7, the power units were disconnected from one of the two high-voltage power lines of the 750 kV class.
As specified in the message, a key substation, which plays a vital role in ensuring the nuclear safety of facilities, was damaged. Specialists managed to restore the functionality of one power supply line, but the second remains inoperative.
In accordance with the requirements of the network operator, three power units of these nuclear power plants remain operating at a reduced generation level until the damaged infrastructure is fully restored.
