Lisa Ann Walter spoke about her first Wawa experience in Philidelphia a couple of years ago, where she commemorated her time by honoring one of her favorite football players.
During the 2026 BAFTA Tea Party on Saturday, Jan. 10, theAbbott Elementarystar, 62, recalled

to the convenience store and gas station chain in July 2024, where she tried a few Wawa food and drink staples and met the store’s beloved mascot, Wally the Canadian goose.
During the visit, Walter also made her own Wawa sandwich and named it “The Kelce” after the Philadelphia Eagle player, Jason Kelce. While she didn’t go into full details on what makes up The Kelce, Walter

She also praised Wawa’s milkshake as one of its top-tier offerings. “Honest to god, the milkshake? Unbelievable. Unbelievable,” she gushed. “I would have that milkshake over any ice cream shop any day of the week. Fabulous!”
As a regional store – only having locations in Delaware, D.C, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia – Wawa is not only a special place to the Maryland-native, but also to her character, teacher Melissa Schemmenti, onAbbott. In the Hulu series, Ms. Schemmenti is a Philadelphia native, where the show is set, and a diehard Eagles fan.
Walter is happily playing out her real life love for football in the comedy series, In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE on Jan 4, at the 31st Critics’ Choice Awardsrevealed that she watches football on her phone in between red carpet interviews.
“Well, it’s Washington, the Commanders, versus the Philadelphia Eagles,” she said at the time. “They’re both my teams. I grew up in D.C., but because I am a Philly girl now by adoption, I always root for them when they’re doing well.”
The star added that watching football on the red carpet may become a tradition, given that award shows are typically on Sunday, which is the same day most games are on. When asked about this past weekend’s games, which also coincided with the Golden Globes, Walter confirmed that she’d watch the NFL’s Wild Card Weekend matchups that premiered at 1 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. ET.
